Request Service

The public is encouraged to request service from the District. These requests generally are to request mosquito control services, report a mosquito source (such as an unmaintained swimming pool), request information about ticks, or insect identification. There is no charge for these services.

Lake County residents can fill out an online service request form, contact the District by phone (707-263-4770), or by visiting the District Office (410 Esplanade St., Lakeport) during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

Insect Identification

We offer identification of insects and other arthropods, such as mosquitoes, flies, ticks, and kissing bugs.

Mosquitofish

Mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis) are indispensable to our mosquito control program in Lake County. The fish eat mosquito larvae. Mosquitofish are provided, without charge, to the public for ponds, unused swimming pools, animal watering troughs, and other water features. They require minimal feeding or care, other than to protect them from garden sprays, chlorine, chloramines, or other chemicals…

The West Nile virus dead bird testing season is here. You can report your dead bird using this online form at any time during the year.
